ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) вЂ” Former Sen. Paul Sarbanes, whom represented Maryland for three decades into the Senate being a frontrunner of economic regulatory reform and drafted initial article of impeachment against Republican President Richard Nixon throughout the Watergate scandal as being a congressman, has died, their son stated. He had been 87.
Sarbanes, whom retired through the Senate in 2006 and in addition served six years being a U.S. agent, had been a Democrat recognized for preventing the limelight while quietly pursuing liberal objectives.
Rep. John Sarbanes, the senatorвЂ™s that are late, said their dad passed away peacefully Sunday evening in Baltimore.
